Cumulative Visualisation
Information

The cumulative visualisation shows the views of the proposed Maerdy windfarm together with the Ferndale windfarm, which has received planning consent. The eight "3MW" turbine layout is used for Maerdy Windfarm throughout as it has higher towers and hence slightly more visible. The Ferndale Windfarm consists of eight turbines.

The maps show the area surrounding both windfarms. The orange area is the area that has a potential view of some part of both windfarms; ie a cumulative view. The view could be as little as the blade tip of a single turbine on each windfarm. The few urban areas that have a cumulative view are highlighted by a brown ring.

Navigate through the maps using the blue buttons. The large scale maps have camera icons that link to photomontages of the cumulative views. Those views where both windfarms are not visible (because of an obstacle, such as house) are shown by a red camera and those where both windfarms can be seen are shown by a green camera.

The photomontages have an overview image at small scale showing the full field of view. The "larger image" link shows a photomontage at larger scale. Use the scroll bar at the bottom of the page to move the larger image. At the top of the image labels indicate the location of Maerdy and Ferndale windfarms.
